Joe Bill Horton, 73 of Mocksville, NC formerly of Carroll County, VA, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife Josephine T. Anderson Horton of Mocksville; children Mary Catharine Horton Smith of Frederick, MD, Roseann Horton of Warrenton, VA, Wanda Mae Horton of New Market, VA, James Robert Horton & wife Debbie of Warrenton, VA, and Kimberly Ann Horton Hensley of Warrenton, VA; step-son & spouse Roger & Cathy Anderson of Mocksville, NC; brothers Robert Paul Horton and wife Toots of Portland, TN, Jim Horton & wife Naomi of Simpsonville, SC and Jake Horton of King, NC; sisters Mozelle Branscomb & husband Noel of McMinnville, OR, Jewel Horton of Boonville, NC, and Anita McKenna & husband Larry of Marrison, TN; sister-in-law Jacqueline Brannim (Paul) of Denbrooks, TX; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services with burial following will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Webb-Skyview Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Military Rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Hillsville, VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 on Monday prior to the graveside services at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA.
