JoAnn Sowers Combs, 80 of Cana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Combs was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Cana N. and Sena Worrell Sowers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Jesse Lee Puckett, Manuel Sowers, and Norma Sowers.

Survivors include her husband, Lavern Combs; daughter, Bonita Snyder (Bradley); siblings, Nelson Sowers (Hortense) and Nora Alice Martin (Bedford); grandchildren, Joseph Berrier, Laken Hash, Aiden Snyder, and Madison Snyder; and great-grandchildren, Abygayle Hash, Adleigh Jo Hash, and Aubreigh Hash.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Rocky Ford Christian Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Gleason Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
