Joan Norris Edwards, 78 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  Mrs. Edwards was born in North Carolina to the late Bardon and Dorris Sykes Norris.  Joan was a long-time member of Sky View Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Edwards; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Shane Cook; grandsons, Nicholas Cook and Andrew Cook; and brother and sister-in-law, William and Marion Norris.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Sky View Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastors Wendell Horton and Gary Horton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery.  Nicholas Cook, Andrew Cook, Harold Norris, Larry Bradford, Gene Hubbard, and Barry Stockner will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sky View Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Sky View Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
