Jo Ann Richmond Potts, 79 of Cana, passed away on Saturday, June14, 2025 at Lewis Gale Hospital - Montgomery.  Mrs. Potts was born in Grayson County, VA to the late Walter and Mamie Linville Richmond.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thurmond Potts; a son, Michael Thurmond Potts; sisters Beulah Hale and brother-in-law Leonard Hale, Faye Shinault and brother-in-law Roger Shinault; brother Frank Richmond.

Survivors include children, Pamela Potts and Joe Lopez, Teresa Ann LaRue and Tim, Timothy Dwayne Potts and Crystal; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law Mary (Tootsie) Johnson; Special friend Robert Hurt; Special cousin Patsy Easter; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for the care they gave to Mrs. Potts.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Love Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Pastor Brian Frazier and Pastor Barry Hale officiating.  Burial will follow in the Love Cemetery on Kinzer Road in Hillsville.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
