Jimmy Sumner, 70 of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home. Mr. Sumner was born in Carroll County to the late Kelly Warden and Etta Mae Bryant Sumner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Sumner and Larry Sumner.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sumner of the home; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Sammie Branscome of Woodlawn; father and mother-in-law, Wilson and Eula Sharp of Woodlawn; brother-in-law and spouse, Ronnie and Judy Sharp of Woodlawn; sisters-in-law, Patty Sumner of Austinville and Pam Sumner of Galax; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Woodlawn Church of God at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rudy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharp Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Church of God on Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
