Jimmie Anderson Cooke, 80 of Cana, born November 17, 1942 in Newport News, VA to James and Gladys Cooke, has gone on to be with the Lord on May 26, 2023.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, of which his mother passed on March 13, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Cooke of Cana, VA; sister, Carol Lee Campbell; children, Sherry and Robert Barry of Newport News, VA, Crystal Mardes and friend Jeff of Shackleford, VA, Tammy Cooke and Roger of Poquoson, VA, Edward and Tara Cooke of Yorktown, VA, James and Brenda Cooke of Shackleford, VA, Jimmy and Sarah Cooke of Richlands, VA, and Tim Cooke of Richlands, VA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, step-daughter, Christie Oliver and husband, John of Gloucester, VA; step-son, Ernie Smith of Lambsburg, VA; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was a truck driver and a mechanic for many years.  He has been at Grayson Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Independence, VA for six plus years due to various health issues, including dementia.

His wife and family will be receiving friends and family at the home.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
