Jessie D. Goad, 79, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Goad was born in Floyd County to the late Walker and Lula Quesenberry Goad. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Princeton Goad, Billy Goad, Morris Goad, Leonard Goad, and Kenneth Goad. Survivors include his wife Rose Goad of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Aubrey Don and Deloris Goad of Hillsville and Leonard and Michele Goad of Cana; sisters and brother-in-law Effie and Cecil Montgomery of Dublin and Marie Guynn of Mount Airy, NC; and two grandchildren Bradley D. Goad of Blacksburg and Stephanie M. Goad of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Branch Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
