Jesse Lawrence Martin, 81 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home. Mr. Martin was born in Woodlawn, VA to the late Macie A. and Verna Davis Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life for almost 60 years, Brenda Joyce Hatcher Martin August 24, 1946 – January 26, 2020. Our sweet parents are now reunited and never to be separated again. They are walking the streets of gold hand in hand.

Survivors include his sister, Scharlene Martin Stoneman (Elmer); children, Jeffrey Bryant Martin (Theresa Harrison Martin), Robin Martin Quesenberry, Rebecca Elizabeth Martin (fiancé, Junior Bond), and Andrew Lawrence Martin; grandchildren Kayla, Jessica, and Emily Martin, Doug, Joey and Chrissy Harrison, Brandon Quesenberry (fianceé, Vanessa Dovel), Andrea Martin, Hayley Martin, Alyson Martin, Brandon Nester, and Chasity Hernandez; great-granddaughter, Olivia Quesenberry; bonus family, Jared and Melissa Bond Sawyers, Landon, Braydon, Carson and Easton; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Kevin Carlan officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
