Jerry Mitchell Sutphin, 74 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Sutphin was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Dayton and Iva Dickens Sutphin.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sheets Sutphin; brother, L.D. Sutphin; and special step-son-in-law, Jeff Doyle.

Survivors include his children, Cindy Fields (Billy) and Pam Johnson (Brian); step-daughter, Diane Doyle; step-sons, Mark Sheets, Jeff Sheets, and Aaron Sheets; grandchildren, Nick, Casey, Kendra, and Chandler; step-grandchildren, Marcus, Cayla, Falyn, Taylor, and Erica; great-grandchildren, A.J., Kinsley, Pyper, Parker, and Ada; step-great-grandchildren, Jared, Wyatt, Ean, Carter, Raleigh, and Damion; siblings, Connie Sutphin, Rocky Sutphin, Barbara Sue Amoss, Marcella Odell, Margaretta Sheppard, Tina Edwards, and Trina Bullins; several nieces and nephews; and special pastor and friend, Scottie Bullins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Gospel Chapel Church in Laurel Fork at 2:00 PM with Pastor Scottie Bullins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sutphin Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilot View Baptist Church. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
