Jerry D. Neal, 63, of Hillsville passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Neal was born in Bickmore, WV to the late Elmo Ray and Thelma Murphy Neal. Survivors include his wife Ila Faye Akers Neal of the home; son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Donna Neal of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law Terry and Suzi Neal of Chantilly, VA; sisters and brother-in-law Catrina and Roderick Sutton of Kannapolis, NC, Pamela Neal of Salisbury, NC, and Tonya Barnes of Myrtle Beach, SC; father and mother-in-law Allen and Ilene Akers of Hillsville; brothers-in-law and spouses Dennis and Kathy Akers of Hillsville and Delno and Sharon Coen of Bickmore, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Victory Way Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Wells and Pastor Neil Eidson officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 PM and lasting until the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
