Jerry Hubert Geisler, 77, of Hillsville, Virginia, husband of Betty Coyle Geisler and father of Jenifer H. Geisler, Byrum L. Geisler, and Brett L. Geisler died on Sunday May 6th, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Geisler was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on July 6, 1934. He was educated at Emory and Henry College and T. C. Williams School of Law (B.A., LL.B.). Mr. Geisler was an Attorney-at-law in Hillsville. Mr. Geisler was the son of the late Ernest K. Geisler and L. Marie Geisler of Pennington Gap, Virginia. He is survived by his brother, Ernest K. Geisler, Jr. and wife, Mildred D. Geisler of Richmond, Virginia. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is also survived by son-in-law Raymond M. Morrison, daughters-in-law Elizabeth A. McClanahan and Sarah S. Geisler, and grandchildren M. Katherine Morrison, R. Yuri Morrison, Margaret C. Morrison, W. McClanahan Geisler, Eleanor K. Geisler, Olivia M. Geisler and Ava E. Geisler. Mr. Geisler served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1966 until 1981 and was House Minority leader from 1974 until 1981. He was a member of the Hillsville Jaycees; Izaak Walton League; Local and State Bar Associations; Carroll County Farm Bureau; Bank of Carroll Board of Directors; and Downtown Club of Richmond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Carilion Clinic Foundation in honor of the Palliative Care Unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, P. O. Box 12946, Roanoke, Virginia 24029. The family will receive friends at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, Virginia is serving the family.
