Jeanette Q. "Sunny" Martin died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, with her daughters by her side. She was 90 years old and a resident of Legacy Heights Senior Living Community in Charlotte, NC. She was born February 16, 1926, in Hillsville, VA to the late Bernard O. and Edythe DeHaven Quesinberry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Moir G. Martin, M.D. and her sister Eunice Q. Phipps.

Sunny is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Donna and Tom Pope of Lexington, VA; Paige and Randolph Marshall of Fayetteville, NC; and Kim and Brian Heath of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her loving sister, Doris A. Hurst of Hillsville, VA.

Carrying on the legacy of Sunny and Moe Martin are seven grandchildren and their families: Catherine and Cormac Breathnach and their daughter, Anna (Lexington, KY); Whitney and Tim Meyers and their son, Henry (Alexandria, VA);  Lauren and Neal Heath and their daughter, Olivia (Franklin, TN); Jess and Dan Heath and daughter, Hannah, and son, Hudson (Charlotte, NC);Sarah Stewart and Connor Heath (Charlotte, NC) Shannon Pope (Charlotte , NC ); and Michael Pope and Jamie Beckland (Portland, OR).

The family will receive friends at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church, Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 2:00 until 3:00pm , with funeral to follow. The Rev. Kevin Campbell will be officiating.  The burial will be private.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Legacy Heights and to Hospice & Pallative Care Charlotte Region for all the love and care given to Sunny and her family during her stay.
