Jean J. Bolen, 84, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.  Jean was born in Carroll County to the late Clifton and Bertha Mae Jackson.

Jean was a member of the Fancy Gap United Methodist Church, and worked as Deputy Clerk of Court for the Carroll County Circuit Court for over 33 years. She loved serving her church and her community.  Jean would tell you that her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her siblings were the most important things in her life.  She was also an avid sports fan.

She is survived by her children, Regi Bolen, David Bolen Jr., and Tommy Bolen (Heather); brothers, Donnie and J.L. Jackson (Carlene); sisters, Sue Hurd and Ellen White (Gernon); eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Fancy Gap United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rick Clark officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 until 11:00 prior to the service time.
