J.D. Barr, 84, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Mr. Barr was born in Carroll County to the late Robert Thomas and Alma Mae Thomas Barr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carmie Barr and Dorless Barr. Survivors include his children, Johnny Jay Barr, Joseph Michael Barr, and Tyra Barr Badgett; three grandchildren, Abby Badgett Collins, Jess M. Badgett, and Jake Kleitz; great grandson, Finlee Reece Collins; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with inurnment following will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Gladesboro Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Montgomery officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Grover King Post 1115 V.F.W.
