Janie Marie Alvord, 68, of Woodlawn, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014. Mrs. Alvord was born in West Virginia to the late Mary L. Hutchinson and Clifford Perdue. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Perdue, Clifford Perdue, and Doug Hay. Survivors include her son, Eldon Alvord of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Donna Strong of Rudyard, MI and Ronda Sessa of Sierra Vista, AZ; step daughter, Dawn Poremba of Portage, MI; sisters, Phyllis Doss, Josephine Watts, Lois Baidsen, Mary Baisden, and Alma Baisden all of West Virginia and Sally Callahan of Fancy Gap; brother, William Perdue of Southgate, MI; grandchildren, Kevin Alvord, Kyle Alvord, Gerry Sessa, and James Sessa; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, James Tanner, Oleane, Jerry, and Stacy Horton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM Spirit of Faith Church in Kenova, WV. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
