September 28, 1957 – August 3, 2016
Janet Elaine Harmon , 58 of Asheboro, ended her battle with cancer on August 3, 2016. She went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Psalms 116:15 says "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Janet closed her eyes on this planet and opened her eyes in Heaven where she was greeted by her parents and many, many friends. She loved life and fought a hard battle against cancer.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Leonard Harmon and Mrs. Juanita Rotenizer Harmon. She assisted in the care of both of her parents. She was a graduate of Asheboro High School and she had an Associate's Degree in Office Administration from Randolph Community College. She did office work for several years and worked at Eveready Battery Company for over 30 years and was also a licensed realtor. Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheboro. She loved horses and going to horse riding events and she also loved going to the beach and listening to beach music.
Ms. Harmon is survived by her sister, Deborah Cheek and husband, Lewis of Randleman and her brother, Roger Harmon of Asheboro.
The family wishes to thank the members of First Baptist Church, especially Mr. Larry and Patti Cahoon, for their prayers and support, the staff of the 4th floor of Randolph Hospital and the Home Health Services for all their kindness and caring, and also the staff at Randolph Hospice House for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Pickett officiating. Janet will be buried in the Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery beside her parents. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral services.
