James E. (Tom) Horton Retired, 83 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2007 at Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife Nancy Mae Dickerson Horton of the home; son Bobby Kenneth Horton of Hillsville; daughters & sons-in-law Nancy Carolyn Horton & Maynard Joyce of Hillsville, Patricia Ann & Marvin Lee Taylor, Jr. of Allisonia, Debra Jean Horton of Mt. Airy, NC, and Sharon Lea & Lee Edward Effler of Radford; sisters & brother-in-law Earlene & Moier Dalton of Hillsville and Inez Goad of Hillsville; three grandchildren Ashleigh Karen Payne, Jamie Leann Seagle and Trista Blair Trail; and two great grandchildren Katelyn Alexis Payne and Kaleb Willis Payne.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays, Rev. Elmon Thompson and Dr. Allen Cherry officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115 and Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday night at the funeral home.
