James Thomas Vass, 81, of Hillsville, VA passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing and Rehab in Laurel Fork. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arba and Ollie Bowman Vass; son, Joseph Michael Vass; one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Bond Vass of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Donny Robertson of Stigler,OK; sons and daughters-in-laws, Ivan and Gloria Vass of Jonesville, NC, and Craig and Julie Vass of Beaufort, SC; thirteen grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Victory Way Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Victory way Baptist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Vass family.
