James Junior Shupe, 83 of Austinville, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home. Mr. Shupe was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Willie W. and Ruby Flanagan Shupe.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Shupe; children, Lenny Shupe (Nancy), Vickie Shew (Claude), Robin Keller, and David Shupe (Karen); step-children, Linda Avery, Rena McDonough, and Donald Dodge (Angela); siblings, Margie Lee Parris and Alonzo "Jack" Shupe (Shelia Croft); twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hal Sonafrank officiating. Burial will follow in the Beasley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
