James Steele (Shorty) Robinson, 53, of Hillsville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his father James Elmer Robinson and his brother Mikey Robinson. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Robinson of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Michelle & Russell Smoot of Hillsville, Jennifer & Paul Hampton of Richlands, and Cindy & Brian Ward of Saltville; son & daughter-in-law J.C. & Amy Robinson of Saltville; mother Christine Robinson of Rosedale; brothers David Robinson of Elk Garden and Ricky Robinson of Kentucky; sisters Donna Furrow of Roanoke and Carlene Robinson of Rosedale; nine grandchildren; special aunt Eloise Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cass Horton and Rodney Christman officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday night at the funeral home.
