James Paul Shaw, 78, of Woodlawn passed away on February 23, 2008 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Nelo Shaw and Erna Hill Shaw, and a brother Ernest Troy Shaw. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Flora Wilson Shaw of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Tony Paul & Debbie G. Shaw of Galax; Terry Marvin & Sherry J. Shaw of Wirtz, VA; and grandson and fiance, Jordan Paul Shaw & Cody Farrington, and granddaughter and spouse Mallory Faith & Brad Hawks.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
