James Junior Russell, 81 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Russell was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Paul K. and Beulah Fielder Russell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Russell.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Missy Russell; granddaughter, Brittany Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Mary Alice Russell; sister, Logene Anders; and special friend, Joyce Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wendell Horton and Doug Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
