James Michael Rice 46, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2010at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Rufus Rice. He is survived by his daughter; Adair Rice & Mark Lineberry, a son & fiance, Timothy Scott Rice & Selena Spurlin, both from Hillsville; mother Helen Smith Bennett, New Market; brothers & sisters-in-law; Wayne & Toni Rice, Warrenton, Gary & Wanda Rice, Fort Valley, Rodney Rice Colonial Beach, Donald & Sherry Rice, Sealston, Joe & Dianne Rice, Haymarket, Richard & Cristina Rice, Front Royal; sisters & brothers-in-law; Peggy & Donnie Davison, Strasburg, Bonnie & Harold Stanley, Triangle.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Gary Adams officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
