James Allen Murdock Ball, 53 of Galax, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Ball was born in Kingsport, TN to the late David Sherwood Ball and Ruby P. Roark Ball. He is survived by his children Katrina Knapp of Hillsville, Joshua Ball of Jefferson, NC, and Kandy Goad of Hillsville; siblings & spouses R. Shirlene Castle of Surgoinsville, TN, Judy & Gene Taylor of Independence, Garland & Helen Ball of Galax, and Ronald & Joann Ball of Waynesville, OH; four grandchildren; one step grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends Robert & Jacqueline Smythers.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Mission Love Church on Petty Road in Galax with Leroy Gardner officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Boy Scouts of Grayson County c/o Blue Ridge Mountains Council 2131 Valley View Blvd. Roanoke, VA 24019.
