James Wingfield Quesinberry, age 79 of Galax, Virginia, passed away at the VA Hospital in Salem, Virginia on Monday, June 20, 2022. James was born October 27, 1942 to his late parents, Cleveland Kyle and Gertrude Quesinberry of Hillsville, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Frost Quesinberry, sisters, Bernice Padgett and Bertha "Mickey" Quesinberry; and brother, John E. Quesinberry.

James was a member of the Shriners, Masonic Lodge, and Scottish Rites. He was in the Army for 6 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Teri Hodge of Fancy Gap, VA and Georgia Bryant of Galax, VA; four grandchildren, Alex Whalen of Fancy Gap, VA, Spenser Hodge of Rural Retreat, VA, Holly and Tyler Collins of Hillsville, VA, and Katlin Bryant of Cana, VA; two great-grandsons, Ryan Taylor of Dobson, NC and Kayden Bryant of Hillsville, VA. He is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Buford and Nancy Quesinberry and Cleve and Phyllis Quesinberry all of Hillsville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosa Fields, Juanita Brown, Louise and Reiford Harmon all of Hillsville, VA, Dorothy Fleming of Collinsville, VA and Anita and William Haynes of Woodlawn; several nieces and nephews; and great- nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastors Don Sizemore and Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115 and Masonic Rites by the Masonic Lodge # 193 AF and AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
