James Campbell Phipps, 92, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Piney Forest Nursing and Rehab in Danville. Mr. Phipps was born on August 3, 1922 to the late Marvin Preston and Hattie May Vaughn Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Q. Phipps. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sandra Phipps of Danville and Richard Phipps of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren and spouses, Melanie Phipps Harrison and husband, Glen of Fairfax, Crystal Phipps Lewis of Danville, Temple Phipps of Raleigh, NC, and Travis Phipps and wife, Jennifer of Cape Coral, FL; great grandchildren, Alex Harrison and Amber Harrison both of Fairfax, and Grace Lewis of Danville; and sister, Jean Milbrandt of Gainesville, VA. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Felts Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Bays officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge # 193 AF & AM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family
