James Elwood (Peanut) Weddle, 78, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carleen Weddle; daughter, Priscilla Caviness; parents, Howard and Lillian Sutphin Weddle; brothers, Joe Howard Weddle and Gerald Ray Weddle.

Mr. Weddle is survived by three daughters and sons in-law, Rebecca and Tom Heaton of Hillsville, Linda and Darrell Russ of Lexington, NC, and Rachel Gentry of Mt. Airy, NC.; two sons and daughters in-law, Jeff and Rita Ann Spivey of Garner, NC and Lance and Debbie Spivey of Reidsville, NC; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and his many special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
