James W. Montgomery, 95, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Madie Gardner Montgomery; brothers, Victor Montgomery (infant), Luther Montgomery, and Dewey Montgomery. Survivors include his wife, Hazel G. Montgomery; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Joseph Scydle (Skeebo) and Edith Montgomery of Hillsville, and Archie and June Montgomery of Tallahassee FL; sisters, Henrietta Ogle of Hillsville, and Trudy Shockley of York, PA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. Masonic Rites will also be conducted by Hillsville Lodge # 193, AF & AM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Montgomery family.
