James Michael Lynch, M.D., Lt Col-Ret, USAF, 76, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at UVA Medical Center. Dr. Lynch was born in Pennsylvania to the late John Colbert and Claire Laticia Diamond Lynch. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Edna Lynch. Survivors include his children: James Lynch, Jr. with wife Yvonne Chan, and grandchild Robert Chan, Vienna, VA; Joseph Lynch with wife DeeAnn Lynch, Vancouver, OR, and multiple grandchildren; Michael Lynch with wife Lisa Ruthman, Burtonsville, VA; Ken. K. Antolik, Berwyn Heights, MD; Marie Lynch with husband M. Trevor Przyuski, and 2 grandchildren: Tess and Jude Przyuski, Charlottesville, VA; Lan Dai Thi (Nguyen) Hilton with husband Glenn Hilton, and two grandchildren: Alexandria Byrd and Branson Hilton, Rockwell, NC; Dao Lan (Nguyen) Walker with husband Jon Walker, and 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cole, Colin, and Kloe, Harpers Ferry, WV; Jessica Lynch with husband Jamie DeClue, Herndon, VA; John Lynch, and 2 grandchildren: Xavier and Sydney, Columbia, SC; and Marcellus Lynch with wife Jennifer Lynch, Hillsville, VA; stepchildren: Regina Wright with husband John Wright, and 3 adult grandchildren: Gabe, Vali, Dakota, and 2 great-grandchildren, Pfafftown, NC; Mony Carr with husband Rick Carr, and 2 adult grandchildren: Jason Pruitt and Jody Nicola, and 4 great-grandchildren, Galax, VA; and Timothy Shelton with wife Regina Shelton, Los Angeles, CA. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 12:00 PM with Rev. Stewart Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin at 2:00 PM on Thursday. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 58. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
