James J. (Jim) Williams, Jr., 85, of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Sr. and Eula Williams; brother, J. Ronald Williams; sister, Carolyn.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Stanley Williams of the home; sons and daughters-in-laws, Steve and Kathy Williams of Hillsville, and Joey and Sandy Williams of Pulaski, VA; sister, Linda Wade of Roanoke; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Chad Cox, Brianna Williams, and Cameron and Shawnee Williams; step-granddaughter and spouse, Cambri and Brian Lane; great grandchildren, Caitlin Weil, and Amelia Cox; step great grandchildren, Tanner Lane, and Jackson Lane; niece Margrit Howell; nephew, Mike Wade.

Jim was born at Dante, VA on July 13, 1931 and attended high school at Meadows of Dan, VA. Jim attended church at First Baptist Church of Hillsville where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School, he also served as head usher and was on the Building and Grounds Committee. Jim also served four years' active duty with the Navy Seabees U.S.N. MCB5 from 1951 to 1955. He remained in road and bridge construction until age 75. He was a General Superintendent for DLB INC. from 1986 until his retirement in 2006. Jim always loved and was very proud of his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Hillsville with Pastor Michael Shockley and Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Hillsville on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The family says that flowers would be appreciated however in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Stanley Cemetery in care of Karen Wood, 441 Busted Rock Road, Meadows of Dan, VA, 24120 or to the First Baptist Church Technology Committee 1401 North Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Williams family.
