James Henry Horton, 71, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Henry and Mazie Horton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Horton; and his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his step children and spouse, Darryl Dalton of Hillsville, Hilda Wooten & husband, Danny of Hillsville, and Waymon (Red) Dalton and wife, Gina of Galax; special friends, Glenn Reed of Michigan and David and Jane Louve of Louisiana; six grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderman Clontz Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
