James A. Hill, Jr., 80 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  Mr. Hill was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late James Arnie Hill and Lillie Opal Sumner Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Hill; children, Zonnie Hill (Vicki), Derek Hill, and Chris Hill (Becky); step-children, Erin Leath (Timmy) and Paden Leonard; sister, Shirley Burcham; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
