James Samuel Gardner, 68, of Austinville, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at his home. Mr. Gardner was born in Carroll County to the late Arnold and Nancy Moore Gardner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Waller of the home; sister, Ethel Dalton of Hillsville; several nieces and nephews; one step granddaughter; and one step grandson. Funeral services will held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 10:00 AM with Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
