James Lawrence Flanagan, 77 of Austinville, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home.  Mr. Flanagan was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Fred and Nellie Frances Myers Flanagan.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Reneé Flanagan; and son, James L. Flanagan, Jr.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Hall and Russell, Cleva Quesenberry, Pansy Howell and Charles, and Myrtle Burnett and Eveston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Angie Lineberry and Pastor Hal Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
