James "Eddy" Edwards, 63, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Washington, DC on August 30, 1948. He was preceded in death by his father James Monroe Edwards. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law Charmaine M. Edwards of Christiansburg and Bobbi Jo and Richard Blankenship of Archdale, NC; sons and daughters-in-law James M. and Bekie Edwards of Bowie, MD and Steve and Audra Edwards of Woodbridge, VA; mother Mary Surratt Edwards of Rockville, MD; sister and brother-in-law Jackie Lee and James T. O'neil of Rockville, MD; four grandchildren Emily A. Edwards, Taylor Edwards, Jonas Patrick Blankenship, and Blake Edwards; and niece Denise Surratt. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in Little Vine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
