James Douglas White, 79 of Mt. Airy, NC passed away peacefully at Central Continuing Care, Mt. Airy, NC on Sunday, November 9, 2025.  Doug was born on September 12, 1946 in Sylvatus, Virginia, where he spent his younger years growing up.  After completing High School, he joined the United States Air Force.  He served honorably as a Veteran of the Vietnam War.  After completing his service to the military, he moved to Mt. Airy, NC where he worked and raised a family for the rest of his life.  When Doug wasn't working, he liked doing yard work, woodworking, splitting wood by hand, better than any modern wood splitter, building model cars, and working on his 1969 Camaro SS.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Cager M. and Eula Mae (Alderman) White.  Survivors include his son, Jonathan Douglas White and his wife, Sherry (Beasley) White; his two brothers, Curtis C. White and Donald B. White; niece, Sherri White (Jamie) Reynolds; great nephew, Clayton Reynolds; and great-niece, Jessa Reynolds.

A private graveside service with inurnment will be held at a later date at Gardner Memorial Cemetery in Hillsville, Virginia.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
