James Randel Clontz, 73 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Hillsville Health and Rehab.  Mr. Clontz was born in Carroll County to the late Willie James and Eloise Caviness Clontz.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Ray "Babydoll" Clontz; paternal grandparents, Ed and Vina Clontz; and maternal grandparents, George and Georgia Caviness.

Survivors include his son, Willie James Clontz of Hillsville; step-children, Eric Funk of Winston Salem, NC and Tammy Funk Burnette of Hillsville, VA; siblings, Debra Bolen (Ben) of Radford, Linda Gibson (Jimmy) of Hillsville, Sandi Caviness Alderman (Eddie) of Galax, William Clontz (Melissa) of Hillsville, and Wayne Clontz (Kim) of Laurel Fork; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; beloved Yorkie of sixteen years, Molly; special friend, Wayne Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joe Baggatta officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clontz Alderman Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
