James Reginald Carter, 71, of Dugspur, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Wythe County Community Hospital. Mr. Carter was born in Carroll County to the late Charles Edgar Carter, Jr. and Juanita Gardner Carter. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Clontz of Dugspur; granddaughter, Christle Clontz of Dugspur; grandson and spouse, Brian and Jessica Clontz of Hillsville; great granddaughter, Faith Clontz of Hillsville; step great-granddaughter, Amber Moles of Hillsville; special friend, Scarlette; nephew, Duane Carter of Dugspur; great nephew Dustin Carter of Dugspur; and special cousins. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Gardner Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the graveside service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
