James "Jimmy" Bobby Burcham, 60, of Galax, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home. Jimmy was born April 24, 1957 in Galax, Virginia. He was a graduate of Carroll County High School and worked for Vaughn Furniture Company for 41 years. He was a member of Blue Ridge Chapel Baptist Church. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, and trapping and he loved being Pa Jimmy. Mr. Burcham was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Jean Burcham.

Surviving family includes his wife, Lynn Burcham of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Deana Burcham of Woodlawn; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Travis Bunn of Fancy Gap; parents, Bobby Ray and Geneva Roberts Burcham of Galax; grandchildren, Landon James Harmon, Steven Haywood Bunn, Peyton Marie Burcham, Huntley James Bunn and Hadley Paige Bunn; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Willie Wilson of Galax, Donna and David Edwards of Galax, Kathy and Randy Wilson of Galax, and Pam and Preston Robinson of Hillsville.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Chapel Baptist Church, 1559 Max Lane, Galax, VA 24333 with Rev. David Johnson and Rev. David Moore officiating. Mr. Burcham will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
