Mr. James Louis Bolt, 74, of Bon Air,Virginia, shuffled off this mortal coil on November 21, 2014, after months of valiant struggle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Levy and Carrie Horton Bolt and his older brother, Kenneth Bolt. He leaves behind his brothers: Terry Bolt (Joyce) and Leslie Bolt(Jenny) and a sister Patsy Cockerham (Delmar). He is survived by his wife, Iva Edwards Bolt; sons Bradford Dale Bolt (Sybil) and Stephen Derek Bolt (Christine); daughter Jimi Lauren Bolt Birkitt. Mr. Bolt leaves seven grandchildren and one great grandchild to cherish his memory: Jeremy Thomas Birkitt, Jesse Ryan Birkitt, Jamie Lauren Birkitt, Myles Thomas Birkitt, Genevieve Elizabeth Bolt, Garrett Edwards Bolt, Byron Mitchell Bolt, and Albert James Roy Bolt. Mr. Bolt served in United States Army where he attained the rank of E4 and worked as a communications specialist in Korea. He returned to civilian life and worked for Western Union and the Stanley Works for the next forty years. Mr. Bolt was an avid fisherman, an accomplished golfer, and a voracious reader. I have faithWe shall rest" Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Grayson V.F.W. Post 7726. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Bolt family.
