Obituary

James Elwood Beamer , 88, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Beamer was born in Carroll County to the late Robert Glenn and Frances Melissa Bunn Beamer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Beamer, Don Beamer and Gearl Beamer.

Survivors include his wife, Freeda Mae Beamer of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Nicky Patton of Galax; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Phyllis Beamer of Fancy Gap; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Cloud of Fancy Gap, Peggy and Jackie Horton of Fancy Gap, Alease and Roddie Iroler of Hillsville, Shirley and Benny White of Galax, and Patsy and Ted Newman of Dugspur; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Adelle Beamer of Hillsville; grandchildren, Trevor Beamer and Michael Patton; step granddaughter and spouse, Shaffney and Jon Beaver; step great grandsons, Jonathan Beaver and Tate Beaver; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Joe Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
