James Andy Ayers 88 of Laurel Fork, VA passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Independence, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Lyons Ayers; parents, Robert and Susie Collins Ayers; sisters, Effie Pruitt, Sylvia Ayers, and Magaline Thomas.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Debbie Edwards and Danny Dalton, Phillip and Judy Ayers, Sharon and Eldon Painter, and Robert Steven Ayers; sister, Mary McMillan; six grandchildren and spouses, David and Lynette Painter, Wayne and Tiffany Edwards, Robbie and Chelsea Painter, Catherine Ayers, Andy Ayers, and Travis and Anna Edwards; two step-grandchildren, Kenneth Beasley and Stacy and Damon Alley; ten great-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; four step-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett and Brother Doug Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Worrell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
