Jake Foy Lewis, 86 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at his home. Mr. Lewis was born in Carroll County to the late Elzie Lewis and Sarah Ann Boyd Lewis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Brandi Hawks. Jake is survived by his wife Lula Mae Lewis of the home; daughters Barbara A. Parish and husband Bentley of Mt. Airy, NC and Betty L. Bullion & fianc Billy Bray of Mt. Airy, NC; sons Robert Lewis of Hillsville and Bernard Lewis & wife Tammy of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law Avery & Georgia Lewis of Richland, IN; sisters & brother-in-law Azalee Dalton of Richland, IN, Lola Horton of Hillsville and Estes & Ronald Leftwich of Hillsville; seven grandchildren Jamie Hawks, Courtney Hawks, Stacey Bullion, Shannon Ruiz, Alvino Bautista, Alex Lewis, and Mikaela Lewis; eleven great grandchildren Dylan Smith, Amy Hawks, Brett Hawks, Paige Hawks, Chevelle Simone, Billy Carrico, Dakota Bullion, Susan Ruiz, Jessica Ruiz, Rigo Ruiz, and Alysia Ruiz; and two great great grandchildren Leyla Chavez and Brayden Hawks.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Terry Simone and Rev. Junior Bullion officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
