Jack Bolen, 64, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Jack was born in Carroll County to the late Garfield and Imo Bolen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Bolen. Jack retired form Volvo Truck Plant in Dublin, Virginia after 23 years. Jack is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christine Frazier Bolen; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Bolen Cheeks and husband Ronnie of Galax; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.G. and Linda Bolen, Curtis Bolen, Rev. Ray and Irene Bolen and Virgil Bolen all of Hillsville; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Mike Clontz of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmer Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Flowers would be appreciated; however, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation Serving VA Regional Office 1622 East Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23228-2328 in memory of Jackie Dean Bolen.
