Iva Lee Tate, 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Hillsville Health and Rehab. Mrs. Tate was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Harvey Earl and Lila Vass Burcham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil F. Tate.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Martha Tate; grandson and spouse, Chris and Amanda Tate; great grandson, Bryson Carter Tate; one brother; three sisters; and one sister-in-law.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Independence Cemetery with Pastor Jim Longest officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children , Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607, Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
