Iva June Dalton Gardner Shockley, age 87 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017. She was born June 27, 1929 in Carroll County, daughter of the late James S. and Inez Carpenter Dalton. She was preceded in death by husbands Loris Gardner and Elmer Shockley; grandson, Andrew Gardner; and eleven siblings.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Amber Gardner of Raphine, Joe Gardner of Woodlawn, Ted and Diana Gardner of Wytheville, and Jerry Gardner of Rockbridge; grandchildren, Randy Gardner, Greg Gardner, Corey Gardner, Laura and Duston Jackson, Thomas Gardner, John and Nikki Gardner, Annie and David Renalds, Lily Gardner and T.J. Hamric, and Jacob Gardner; great grandchildren, Rosalie Renalds, Llewyn Renalds, Harlyn Hamric, Hayley Gardner, and Haydyn Gardner; and great-great grandson, Braylon James.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the James Gardner Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Shockley family.
