Isaac Dewey Stilwell, 98, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his home. Mr. Stilwell was born in Carroll County to the late Andrew J. and Susie Montgomery Stilwell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stilwell was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Durnil Stilwell. Survivors include his daughter, Nelda Sue Key of Hillsville; sisters, Laura Bell Thomas of Salem; three granddaughters and spouses, Lesa and Tony Jennings, Kathy and Jeff Tobler and Amy and Mike Sink all of Hillsville; eight great grandchildren and spouses, Emily Jennings, Jenny and Matthew McKenzie, Bryan and Morgan Jennings, Edward Tobler, Matthew and Cherri Tobler, Denver and Ashley Tobler, Daniel Tobler, and Chase Sink; five great-great grandchildren Lydia Tobler, Blake Tobler, Jacob Tobler, Lucin Tobler and Rachel McKenzie; three step great grandchildren, Jazz, Ashlynn, and Colton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Theron Phillips and Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
