Obituary

Irven Dzwileski, age 92, of Hillsville, Virginia passed away and began his new life with the Lord on August 3, 2008 at Twin County Hospital with his niece and great nephew near. He was born March 21, 1916 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to John and Rosalie Dzwileski.

Irv was an avid fisherman on Lake Erie when he lived in Cleveland, OH, a bowler in leagues in Cleveland, OH and Galax, VA, a great photographer and music and movie lover. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Strong in the South Pacific (Tokyo, Okinawa, Marshall, Caroline, Guam, Hawaii) as a Fire Controlman and was awarded the Bronze Star and Victory Medal. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 486 and served as secretary. He retired from Midland Steel in Cleveland where he worked on automobile frames, a Studebaker truck line, two Buick lines, Lincolns and two Ford lines. Irven moved from Cleveland in 2000 to be close to his sister, Janet Brown and niece, Mary Ann Cox. He was a member of St. Josephs Church in Woodlawn, VA and the Monday Group at the Carroll County Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosalie Dzwileski; wife of 51 years Helen Romonko Dzwileski; sister Janet C. Brown; niece, Noreen Bellino; nephew James F. Brown and great nephews: Steven T. Donahue and John J. Brown, III.

He is survived by nieces and nephews: Mary Ann and Bill Cox of Hillsville, VA; Alice and George Saunders of North Bridgton, ME: Cathy H. Brown of Amesbury, MA: Janett and Steve Gilman of Hillsboro, NH: John J. and Lorraine Brown of Exeter, NH; Thomas J. Brown of Scranton, PA; Martha Ann Brown, wife of James, Jackson, NJ; Irven Donald and Jean Brown of South River, NJ and many great and great, great nieces and nephews.

The family will honor their uncle with a Memorial Service at a date to be announced and Inurnment will be in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery, Hillsville, VA. Rev. Deacon Bruce Dwyer of St. Joseph Catholic Church attended to the needs of the family during this time.
