Irene H. Sumner, 82, of Hillsville passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at her home. She was born in Carroll County on August 1, 1929 to the late Troy Benjamin Hill and Susan Gladys McCraw Hill. Survivors include her daughter Loretta Carolyn Sumner of Hillsville; sister and brother-in-law Vera Mae and Melvin McGrady of Hillsville; nephews and nieces Michael McGrady and wife Leah, Brenda McGrady, and Marica Montgomery; several great nieces and nephews; and special caregivers Michelle Kenyan, Kayla Adams, Autumn Fuller, Mary Nester, and Amy Saunders. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Melvin McGrady and Elder Michael McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
