Iona Bell Worell, 88, of Galax, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Worrell was born in Carroll County to the late Obie D, & Ada Nester Montgomery. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Cecil Worrell. Survivors include her sister Mary Etta Collier, of Hillsville, nieces & nephews Patricia Dalton, Debra Branscome, Yvonne Cox, Nathan Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Ricky Montgomery, Terry Montgomery, Barry Montgomery, and Gary Montgomery. Special care giver, Christy Bowers; special friend Versie Barts. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
